The Oscar Awards mark the climax of the Hollywood movie calendar, and year after year, movie enthusiasts wait with bated breath for the announcement of the nominees and winners of the prestigious Academy Awards. The 2011 edition of the Oscar Awards held last week saturaday, 27th February at The Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles. This year The King’s Speech was the overall winner of awards with twelve nominations and four big wins, including Best Picture. Sci-fi thriller Inception starring Leonardo Di Caprio also led the Oscar pack with four awards including Best Visual Effects, and the hugely popular The Social Network (also known as ‘The Facebook Movie’) garnered three awards, one of which was Best Original Score. Colin Firth and Natalie Portman both went home with the most coveted awards of the night for their leading roles in The King’s Speech and Black Swan respectively.
